If something does not match
The number returns nothing
Retype it without spaces. Reports issued before 2014 sit in an archive, so write to the laboratory named on the document.
The grades differ
Where the two disagree, neither is settled by a screen. The lookup shows what the laboratory wrote when it had the stone in front of it, but it cannot tell you whether the stone in front of you is the one described. Pause the transaction and bring both to any IJI laboratory; comparison against the archived record is free.
The origin line is missing
Every IJI diamond report states origin as natural or laboratory-grown. A diamond report that omits it is not one of ours.
